Desktop license

Version

Install the fonts on computers and make logos, print, documents and static graphics. This is version 2026-09 of the text. A license is governed by the version recorded on its receipt or license certificate, which does not change when a later version is published.

What it covers

The Desktop license covers installing the OTF files on computers and using them in any application to make documents, presentations, logos, packaging, signage, illustrations and other static or printed work. Work made this way may be produced in any number of copies and any print run. It does not cover embedding the font files in websites, apps, devices or paid media; those have their own schedules.

Counting users

The tier is the number of people who may have the fonts installed, wherever they work and on however many of their own devices. Tier 1 covers 5 users. A shared computer counts as one user per person who uses the fonts on it. When the number of people grows past the tier, the license moves to the tier that covers them.

Logos, print and static graphics

Logos, wordmarks and brand assets made with the fonts belong to the license holder and may be registered as trademarks. Print of any run length is included. Static images for the web and for social media are included, because the font files never leave the license holder's computers.

Document embedding

The fonts may be embedded in PDF and similar documents for viewing and printing, and in editable documents shared inside the license holder's organization. Documents with the fonts embedded may not be built so that a recipient can extract or install the fonts.

Agency and contractor use

A freelancer, contractor or agency working for the license holder may install the fonts for that work; they count as users of the license holder's tier and delete the files when the work ends. An agency that wants the fonts for its own portfolio of clients licenses them in its own name.

Files delivered

OTF files for each licensed style. WOFF2 and TTF files are delivered under the Web and App licenses.
