OEM license

Version

Embed the fonts in hardware devices the license holder makes or sells. This is version 2026-09 of the text. A license is governed by the version recorded on its receipt or license certificate, which does not change when a later version is published.

What it covers

The OEM license covers embedding the OTF files in the firmware or operating system of a hardware device the license holder makes or sells, so the device renders its interface in the fonts. It covers one device model or product line and its firmware updates.

Counting devices

The tier is the number of devices shipped with the fonts. Tier 1 covers 1,500 devices. When the run grows past the tier, the license moves to the tier that covers it.

Distribution restrictions

The device must not let its users extract, copy or install the fonts on other systems. The fonts may not be offered as a downloadable feature or shipped with a software development kit for third parties.

Files delivered

OTF files for each licensed style.
